Description
In main branch installer_cross builds are supported from a separate build directory. Next step is to make use of a build directory mandatory.
This can be done after nightly builds are able to handle the change. That requires some work at https://github.com/freeiv/freeciv-environments

Nightly builds are now being made in a separate builddir. This ticket would no longer break them -> they are no longer blocking this ticket.
