Bug #1851
openWrong bombardment animation with gtk clients
0%
Description
It is hardly noticeable with the default graphical combat animation delay, but when I increase it from 10 to 100 or so, and I use the bombard action (for example air bombers from civ2civ3 ruleset) with a GTK client (v3, v3.22, or v4), the animation looks like the defenders are losing all their HP.
With qt client (and gtk2 that used to work fine), I see how the HPs of the defender are reduced once per bombard rate. With gtk, the bombardment animation continues until I see as if the HPs were reduced to 1, lasting much more time than it should.
With gtk client (v3.0 and up), I also see many visual glitches when the units are animated (not only bombardment, but any movement or attack), as if it was not taking into account the alpha channel (I see pixels drawn that are supposed to be transparent), and it makes it really hard to know what is happening during AI turn.
I have tested different tilesets (amplio and amplio2), and the same happens to me on ubuntu and windows 10.
I reported the visual glitches of gtk3 years ago, when gtk2 was removed, but it is my first report of the bombardment issue.
